Greetings from the Co-Presidents

Greetings from the WASA family!

We, Fanta Conde and Moshood Abolade, are your 2018/2019 Wharton Africa Student Association (WASA) co- presidents. It is with immense pleasure that we welcome you to our vibrant WASA community. For almost three decades, this community has grown and diversified tremendously, and we are extremely grateful to past WASA leadership teams for the work they put in to make this happen. Today, WASA is a family of members from all over the world, who are connected by a passion for
and/or an interest in the beautiful continent of Africa. We take pride in the current diversity of our student body and we are committed to nurturing it.

This year, while we continue our efforts to work with MBA Admissions to enhance our pipeline of admitted African students, we will also focus on optimising our members’ experience. Through a feedback-based approach, our talented and experienced board aims to assist members on all fronts: from academic and careers to internal and external community engagement. We plan on doing this
with the help of our amazing Alumni community through the Alumni Advisory Board.

WASA’s annual signature event, the Wharton Africa Business Forum (one of the largest conferences at The Wharton School) will be held in the Fall. You are invited to join business leaders, political figures, artists, students, and prospective students from all over the world in dynamic discussions about Africa and around the topic of global partnerships and growth. You will be inspired, you will learn, you will meet impressive people, and most importantly you will have fun.

WASA is a welcoming family tied together by a strong love for Africa. With an amazing board and vibrant community, we are building a better Africa for tomorrow, so if you identify with this mission please stay in touch with us through this site, Email, LinkedIn, Instagram and by attending our WABF conference in the fall.

With WASA Love,

Moshood and Fanta
