Greetings from the Co-Presidents
On behalf of the Wharton Africa Students Association (WASA) — welcome!
WASA is a vibrant and energetic club on campus, with 100+ members spanning nearly every continent, and representing countries from Benin and Lebanon, to Cote d’Ivoire and India. Our primary strength is the passion that we collectively share for the African continent. Above all, we are a welcoming, close-knit community representing current students and alumni who share various levels of interest in Africa.
We are thrilled for the promise this year brings for all things Wharton Africa. Last year, WASA partnered with Admissions to support its efforts to identify, recruit, and admit the largest and most diverse matriculating African class in recent memory. This year, we will continue to work with our incredible board to build upon this admissions success, foster community, expand new alumni engagement initiatives, and make WASA a hallmark club on campus.
This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the Wharton Africa Business Forum (WABF25) — the largest conference at The Wharton School, and our signature event that brings together leaders from the public, private, and social sectors to create actionable solutions to Africa’s most pressing issues. As future business leaders in Africa, we look forward to partnering with you in this dialogue as we collectively seek to drive economic and social prosperity in the continent.
Thank you for your interest and support of our community – we hope you will stay engaged with us on this journey, whether it is through our website or social media platforms, or by joining us as we celebrate WABF25!
