GREETINGS FROM THE WASA FAMILY!

We are so glad you chose to stop by WASA’s little piece of the web. Our names are Shubuka Mainsah and Joan Larbi, and we are the 2019-2020 Co-Presidents of the Wharton Africa Student Association (WASA).

Over the past two decades, WASA has grown in size, diversity, and impact. And so, we could not be more grateful and excited at the opportunity to serve and shape this community! This year, WASA will continue to:

  • Build a vibrant community of current, past, and future Wharton MBA students interested in Africa;

  • Engage the Wharton MBA community on Africa-related content and thought leadership, through the lens of business on the continent; and

  • Showcase and share African culture within the Wharton MBA community and beyond

We invite you to attend our signature event, the Wharton Africa Business Forum (WABF) (one of the largest annual conferences at Wharton) to experience the power of this network for yourself. Themed Moving Africa Forward: Mobilizing the next growth frontier, this year’s conference will convene business leaders, public officials, young professionals, and other brilliant minds for engaged discussion on challenging topics relevant to the continent. All this, of course, will be followed by a celebration designed for peak enjoyment! You don’t want to miss it!

We, our executive team, and our conference co-chairs are all passionately committed to Africa’s progress. We imagine that many of you are too. Please feel free to connect with us through this site, via email, on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram or Facebook), and/or in-person at WABF. You’re part of the extended family!

With WASA Warmth,

Shubuka and Joan

WASA Co-Presidents, 2019-2020
